Construction Update
The widening of I-65 has been delayed and is expected to let out to contract this Fall. Completion is targeted for 2016. The Long Lane crossing project does not have any updates, but is part of the City of Franklin’s Major Thoroughfare Plan. We’ll pass along additional updates on these plans as we hear details.

Redwing Email list info: Signup!
We offer multiple ways of communicating news and events to the neighborhood, including email. We have a private list (don’t worry, no spam!) that we use to send out helpful information. If you are not on the list, send the board your pre- ferred email and we’ll sign you up!

Architectural Review info:
Contact Todd Fuller to submit
Got some Spring projects in mind? Please remember that you need to have our ar- chitectural committee review any plans you have for new construction on your property. From a shed to a fence to a new patio, these need to be reviewed before constructing. If you are just repairing existing areas with like kind or quality, these do not need to be reviewed. We strive to get a quick response from our volunteer team, but please allow at least a week for us to review. Ready to start? Please contact Todd Fuller at Morris Property with your plans.

Pool opening May 18th.
Our neighborhood pool is opening for the season on May 18th. We have been already at work beautifying the area with some new trees and can’t wait to go swimming! We’ve also added Wifi access for poolside browsing. Contact the board for login information.

Construction due Summer 13’
The I-65 widening project is scheduled to continue this Spring and complete the section from North of Peytonsville Road to 840 and include a new interchange. City of Franklin has also proposed an overpass for Long Lane for local access across I-65. TDOT will install the concrete col- umns while continuing the I-65 pro- ject. This overpass will be very similar to Baker’s Bridge in Cool Springs. Currently, it does not have a construc- tion date, but plans are available on the City of Franklin website

Neighborhood Garage Sale
May 11th-12th from 7am to 1pm

Get ready to clean out your garage and attic! The annual neighborhood Garage Sale is Fri-Sat, May 11th-12th from 7am to 1pm. We will have it advertised in most local newspapers and on Craigslist.

Cleanup Day
April 28th – meet at 9am at pool

Mark your calendars for April 28th as we will head outside and clean up our trails, commons areas, and entrances! We will be clearing areas of fallen trees and other debris from Winter (did we actually have
a Winter?). We could also use help establishing the baseball field with a mound and clearer base path. Another crew will be replanting the entrance flower beds and applying mulch where needed. We have also asked the Harpeth Watershed Association to help us with a major fallen tree along Five Mile Creek which is creating some standing water. We’ll meet at the pool at 9am and assign different areas for cleanup work. Hope you can join us!

Pool opening
Opening weekend – May 19th

Our neighborhood pool is opening the weekend of May 19th, so pull out those swim trunks and sun protection and get ready to drop by for a swim! We hope to see the 10 foot earthen berm along I-65 installed by the time the pool opens. Trees will then be planted along the top this Fall. We are having some needed maintenance done at the pool and are excited to announce that it will now be saltwater! We know many families and their kids will enjoy the reduced harshness on their skin and eyes, while we enjoy reduced chemical costs!

Architectural Review
Our Arch Committee wanted to pass along that you are not required to contact the board with any repairs that are being made on your property that are staying with like kind or quality. Also, we strive to get a fast response from our volunteer team, but please allow at least a week for us to review and respond. Thanks!

Spring Field Party!
May 5th in the South ball field

Lace up your sneakers and join us on May 5th for a neighborhood BBQ and 3-on-3 basketball tournament during the day, then pull out the blankets and bring your family for a Family Movie Night featuring the new “Muppet Movie” on Blu-ray! Enjoy some healthy competition amongst neighbors for the coveted title of Redwing 3-on-3 champs – details of sign-up to follow. Hope to see you there!

We are excited to start using Facebook in addition to our website as a way to keep in touch with our neighbors. We think it would be a great way to share local stories. Maybe even use it to share tips on home maintenance or how you got your yard to look so amazing! Look for lots of creative developments over the year.

Hospitality Committee and Welcoming Neighbors

If you do and have greeted them, please let Heather Crouch, Chair of the Hospitality Committee know so she can advise the committee and we can all get out and welcome them to the Redwing Meadows Neighborhood. It’s important we get their emails and other information so they get our updates. Heather’s email is heather.crouch1972@comcast.net. If you want to be on this committee we’d love to have you too.

Facebook Page
We have a facebook page. ““Like” us today. It’s a good way to get information out about social clubs in our neighborhood, possible lost pets, and anything else you want to chat with each other about.
